Listen to my platform, ask questions and speak with me in person.
Hear the mayoral candidates answer pre-qualified questions from residents.
I am a dedicated husband and father of two and a proud grandfather. Eighteen years ago, our family moved to Okotoks from Calgary because of Okotoks’ superior school environment, specifically the excellent reputation of Dr. Morris Gibson School. Combined with Okotoks’ smaller community feel and outstanding recreation facilities, it felt like the perfect place to raise our family. Both of our children benefited from the recreational programs in Okotoks, one even played with the Okotoks Oilers. So when it comes to family and community, I truly understand and relate to the experiences of local residents.
As a proud Albertan raised in Calgary and having been long-established in Okotoks, I have familiarity with both small-town and city life. I am ready to lead Okotoks toward a future that brings back the family-friendly, small-town spirit that many of us cherish and are rightfully concerned about losing. I promise to listen closely to your concerns and respond openly, working every day to build a community where my granddaughter, and all our community’s children, can grow up safe and enjoy the educational and recreational opportunities they deserve.
The current town administration has not communicated well enough with Okotoks residents about decisions affecting residents’ lives. This lack of openness creates distance and frustration, like in any relationship, I will prioritize transparent two-way communication through multiple channels, including regular attendance at public events and active listening to residents’ feedback.
Rapid, high-density development has stretched our resources thin, from schools, parking and roads to recreation opportunities. I support a more balanced growth pace that protects the quality of life that attracted us here in the first place, preserving Okotoks as a welcoming, comfortable community.
Some recent town positions and services seem unnecessary and add to the tax burden. I will work to eliminate wasteful spending and manage taxes by focusing only on essential job roles and services that truly benefit residents.
Our growing community deserves timely organization for education and investment in recreation facilities and other basic services so children can access swimming, skating, gymnastics, and more. I will collaborate with the administration and my council colleagues to assess current community needs, develop long-term solutions with experts, and keep you informed every step of the way.
“A vote for common-sense leadership grounded in clear communication, responsible growth, and a commitment to preserving the values that make Okotoks a great place to live.”
